A Love Note

From the Current Owner of The Lavender House at Edgewick

Before we purchased The Lavender House at Edgewick, it was a popular wedding venue where couples came to tie the knot and was featured in many popular wedding magazines. However, when we purchased the property, it had been stripped of all appliances, toilets, sinks, faucets, light switches, heating, and more. It sat empty for several years and needed to be completely redone. This has been a labor of love over the past eight years for us, and we hope you enjoy the final experience as much as we have!

This has been an extraordinary place to raise our three children with mountain biking trails on the property, easy trail access to the Iron Horse Trail/Palouse to Cascades Trail, Snoqualmie Valley Trail, and only a short walk or bike ride to Rattlesnake Lake. All the peace and solace of a private mountain town community but only a 35 minute commute into downtown Seattle where my husband worked in the tech business.

The home is fitted with 1-gig internet broadband allowing for remote work, and the home is configured with state-of-the-art ethernet cabling and automation. At night we tell Alexa “goodnight” and she turns off all the indoor lights, activates the outside lights, locks the doors, and closes the garages up tight.

We invested nearly half a million dollars on the chef’s style kitchen, boasting multiple ovens, ice maker, coffee bar, built in large refrigerators and freezer, warming drawer, multiple sinks, huge island, granite counter tops, hide away appliance slides, and high end custom designed hood and cabinetry designed specifically for this space.

The media room is wired with the latest in-wall high speed HDMI and speaker cables and is double wall insulated to optimize the audio experience.

The garden has raised beds to save your back from bending over, automated WiFi enabled irrigation for the garden and the entire landscaped portion of the property fed by a custom 2500-gallon cistern and water filtration system that makes this the best quality water you can find anywhere- better than even the best bottled water on the market!

The garage is wired with 240v outlets for all your welding and wood working tools and we have upgraded the electricity transformer at the curb to allow for a whopping 600 amps of power feeding the house, garage, and the Carriage House.

The Carriage House above the garage has been finished and serves as a wonderful guest quarters for visitors with two bedrooms, a full bath, kitchenette, and family room.

We have a fenced dog run with shade/rain cover, a heated doghouse that can house 3 or more dogs, and an in-ground wire fence collar system that covers the entire property allowing dogs to roam free but stay within the confines of the property.

There’s a lavender farm at the back of the property that produces several bails of lavender each year as well as fruit providing apple and pear trees.

The house has two top-of-the-line furnace systems, two top of the line AC systems, two top-of-the-line whole house Generac backup generators that kick in automatically if/when the power goes out keeping you warm, and able to continue working remote through any storm.

You may see our three Siberian huskies on your walk - they are very friendly and do not bite but sometimes they can get excited to see new people and forget their manners! They’ll likely lick you and follow you on your walk on the trails.

The neighbors here are absolutely fantastic. This is an incredible little community that we hope you love as much as we do. We invite you to explore the home, the cottage, the garden, and the walking/biking trails on the property while you are here and we hope you enjoy your time at The Lavender House at Edgewick.
